AI Document Translator — Translate PDFs and Text

Read and share documents in another language. DocFila's AI translator translates text in 47 languages and PDFs in 20, and gives you a bilingual PDF — the original text followed by its translation. The layout of the original is not preserved. Translation uses cloud AI, so the text is sent to DocFila's AI service, and it is a premium tool: the Free plan includes 5 free uses and translates up to 5 pages of a PDF.

Translation That Keeps Documents Usable

DocFila translates the content you need to understand — contracts, reports, forms, and correspondence — and gives you an exportable bilingual PDF, not just a block of pasted text.

47 Languages for Text, 20 for PDFs

The text translator offers 47 target languages and the PDF translator 20, including English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, Japanese, Portuguese, Korean, and Russian. DocFila detects the source language automatically when the document language is clear.

Bilingual Output

The translated PDF is plain text: each page's original text followed by its translation. Headings, tables and images from the original are not reproduced, so keep the original open to check structure. A page of more than 8,000 characters is cut, and DocFila says when that happens.

PDFs and Documents

Open a PDF or a document from your DocFila library. A page with no text layer is skipped and marked run OCR first, so run scanned PDFs through the document scanner first to give the translator text to work with.

Review Before Export

Read the full translation on screen before saving. For legal, medical, or official documents, review critical sections and compare against the original when accuracy matters most.

Export & Share

Save the translation as a bilingual PDF, keep it in your DocFila library, or share it with colleagues. Keep the original and the translated version side by side in your library.

Part of Your Document Stack

After translating, fill forms, sign documents, or edit and merge PDFs — all inside DocFila without switching to another tool.

How to Translate a Document with DocFila

Five steps from original document to translated PDF.

1

Open Translator

Launch DocFila and open Document Translator from the home screen or tools menu. You can start from a local file or pick a document from your DocFila library.

2

Upload Your Document

Select the PDF or document to translate. For scanned pages, run OCR through the document scanner first so the translator has extractable text to work with.

3

Choose Target Language

Pick the language you need. DocFila auto-detects the source language in most cases; override it manually if the document mixes languages.

4

Review Translation

Scroll through the translated output and check key sections — names, dates, amounts, and legal terms. The layout of the original is not preserved; compare the translation with the original page by page.

5

Export Document

Save the translation as a bilingual PDF, keep it in your DocFila library, or share it. Keep the original alongside the translated version for reference.

Translate Within a Complete Workflow

DocFila is built for people who work with documents across languages regularly. Translate a contract to understand it, then use e-signatures to sign the original. Translate an intake form, then use the AI form filler to complete the local-language version. Keep both originals and translations in your DocFila library so you can compare them later.

Expats reviewing lease agreements, international teams sharing reports, and students working with foreign-language source material — DocFila keeps translation inside the same app where you scan, edit, and sign documents.
