How to Split a PDF for Free (Extract Pages)

By DocFila Team · April 28, 2026 · 4 min read

Need just chapter 3 from a 200-page eBook? Want to email page 7 of a contract without sharing the whole thing? Splitting a PDF lets you extract exactly the pages you need. Here's the free, private way to do it.

How splitting works in DocFila

DocFila splits a PDF into one file per page, and you choose which of those pages to save or share. To keep a range of pages as one file, delete the pages you do not need from a copy and save it. To combine pages from several files, use the merge tool.

Split a PDF in DocFila

Open PDF Tools → Split and choose the PDF. DocFila splits it into single-page PDFs and lists them; save or share the ones you want. Splitting runs on your device.

Extract a single page

For one page, split the PDF and save or share just that page. Use the page tools if you would rather delete everything else from a copy.

Split a scanned book into chapters

Scan the pages, then split the PDF into single pages and merge the pages of each chapter into one file. DocFila does not split by bookmark automatically.
